I am an experienced supervisor of counsellors and psychotherapists working from a person-centred, integrative and humanistic perspective. My aim is to provide a safe and boundaried space where all aspects of the work can be explored, considering the client, the practitioner and the therapeutic relationship. Supervision is a developmental process which focuses on both the professional and personal growth of the practitioner. Supervision can be rich and enjoyable at the same time as being challenging, it supports the therapists wellbeing and ensures personal issues involved in the work can be attended to.
I work with a range of professionals seeking support in the form of professional supervision such as head teachers, senior leaders and DSLs in education, medical professionals and charity directors.
Professional supervision will give you the opportunity to take time out from the work place and reflect in a safe space on issues and dilemmas. One professional calls the session their “headspace” another “my time to think.” Through increasing self-awareness and more consistent application of skills you are likely to feel more confident in your role. The supervision can assist you and your organisation to ensure the service being provided meets the required organisational and professional standards. It is a supportive process and therefore should enhance your wellbeing and that of your clients, service users, staff or other stakeholders depending on your role and profession. Supervision will also contribute to your on going professional development as you constantly review and refine practice with an experienced colleague.
